Athens —
William Alvin Skinner was born on Nov. 19, 1949 to Wilbur D. and Margie Skinner in Athens. He passed away on Oct. 11, 2012 in Tyler.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Kay Skinner and children, Molly LeeAnn Carter and husband James Andrew Carter, Everett Lane Skinner and wife Shelly, and William Brett Skinner and wife Shala.
He leaves behind four grandchildren, Emilly Carter, Dallen Skinner, Elijah Carter and Keeli Skinner. He is survived by his siblings, Linda Fay Seilheimer, Jesse Skinner and Kay Miers, and many nieces and nephews.
Al served his country in the U. S. Air Force from June, 1969 until June, 1973, and served under Sheriff Bob Green as a Harrison County Sheriff's Deputy from 1992 until 2000.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 10519 FM 344 E, Whitehouse, TX 75791.
He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn. or St. Joseph's Indian School Chamberlain, S.D. 57326.
