The Athens Review
On Aug. 28, 2013, God called home an Angel, Leslie Grace Christine Hancock, 53, of Waskom. She was born April 13, 1960, in Dallas, and spent most of her life in East Texas. She was always smiling and making others smile with the most beautiful smile. She loved being with her family the most. Always helping others and giving words of encouragement to anyone in need. Words cannot explain how deeply and truly she will be missed.
Funeral services for Leslie will be 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at The Little Chapel by the Lake at Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall. Entombment will follow at Colonial Gardens Cemetery.
She is survived by “her bear,” Eric Hinkle of Waskom, “her sunshine,” Julie Harris of Waskom, “her little boy,” Brandon Harris and wife Becky of Frederick, Colo., Jennifer Daniel and husband Sonny of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren and one on the way; and each who she loved very dearly and couldn’t get enough of, Brighton and Brennan Harris of Waskom, Abby, Emma, Isaiah, Noah, Jubilee, and baby Harris No. 6 of Frederick, Colo., Peyton, Eden, Halen, Cason, Rylan, and Levin Daniel of Fairfield; four brothers and sisters, Ted Hancock and wife Donna of Hooks, Connie Pritchett of Marshall, Denice Easter of Bedford, and Patrick Hancock and wife Debbie of Athens; and many special nieces and nephews from different areas in Texas.
She is welcomed in Heaven by her sweet little sister, Mary Ellen; dad, Herald Hale; and all of God’s Angels.
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit – Psalm 34:18
Rest in Peace my sweet Mama. This isn’t goodbye. It’s only until we hold each other again.
