Ressie Thelma Fulton
Funeral services for Mrs. Ressie Thelma Fulton, 92, of Athens are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Cooper Funeral Home of Athens with Larry Tart and Richard Fulton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Shelby Chapel Cemetery.
She passed away Mon-day morning in Athens.
Ressie Fulton was born February 27, 1915, near Mabank to her parents, John Thomas and Allie Pearl Mize Nalls. She moved to Athens at an early age and married Elbert Howard Fulton on December 17, 1931. She was employed for several years as a nurse’s aide with the Henderson County Memorial Hospital and was a member of the First Church of God of Athens.
Mrs. Fulton was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Howard Fulton in 1968; parents; brothers, Ennis Nalls, Ellis Nalls; sisters, Gertie Terry, Eva Walls and Ruby Beesley.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, J.D. and Betty Fulton of Brownsboro, John Clifton and Ruth Fulton of Athens, Kenneth and Frances Fulton of Athens; sisters, Dessie Wilson of Athens, Hazel Rierson of Pasadena; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The Cooper Funeral Home visitation hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The family will receive condolences at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Ruth Chambers
Ruth Chambers, 97, of Payne Springs died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, in Athens.
Services are Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at Payne Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Diller officiating.
Pallbearers are Leroy Chambers, Hosey Chambers, D’Wayne Chapman, John Bonsai, Scott Sayers and Ralph Ross.
Burial is at Payne Springs Cemetery.
Chambers was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Henderson County. She was a member of Busy Bee’s quilting and sewing of Payne Springs United Methodist Church. Chambers had resided in Payne Springs most of her life and was a member of the Payne Springs United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by daughter Dorothy Bonsai; grandson David Bonsai; and husband Ernest Chambers.
Chambers is survived by son Marlin Chambers and wife Barbara of Eustace, son Jim Chambers of Eustace; daughter Helen Hammer and husband Willie of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
William Mack Earl
William Mack Earl was born the second of 10 children on March 26, 1938, in LaRue, to Homer and Inell Spencer Earl.
He graduated in 1958 as valedictorian from Bullock Central High School in Moore Station. He also attended Texas College for three-and-a-half years. At an early age, William united with Union Station A.M.E. Church. William began his employment at Curtis Mathis in Athens, where he became supervisor in the television shipping department.
William leaves to cherish his memories three sons, two daughters, three sisters, three brothers and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A wake is scheduled Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at Golden Gate (4155 S. R.L. Thornton Fwy). Funeral services are Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m. at Union Station A.M.E. Church, LaRue.
Lillian Mae Wilcox
Lillian Mae Wilcox, 85, of Malakoff, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, in Malakoff.
Services were Monday, Dec. 10, with Dwayne Mixon officiating.
Wilcox was born Nov. 7, 1922, in Malakoff.
Linda Cobb
Linda Cobb, 61, of Log Cabin, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, in Athens.
Services are Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m.
Cobb was born Dec. 31, 1945, in Greenville.

Linder ("LR") Ray Cliver passed away in his daughter's home in Corinth on May 17, 2012. LR was born in Athens on Jan. 20, 1938, to the late Alfred Edward, Sr. and Lola Mae Cliver. LR lived his entire life in Malakoff, except for a short period when he worked for Houston Power & Light. He has owned and operated Cliver's Garage in Malakoff for the past 30 years or more.
