Nellie Paulene Meador
Funeral services for Nellie Paulene Meador, 85, of Cayuga are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Cooper Funeral Home of Athens with Pastor Buddy Hazel officiating.
Burial will follow in the Goodgame Cemetery near Athens.
Mrs. Meador passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 30, 2006, in Athens.
Nellie Meador was born Dec. 28, 1920, in Quanah, Texas, to her parents C.E. and Leah Hodges Rogers. She spent most of her childhood in Parker County. She had lived in numerous locations before settling in Anderson County near Cayuga in the 1950s. She and her husband were active in farming and ranching and she was a member of the Judson Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Bethel-Cayuga Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed gardening, community fundraising, shopping and especially her dog “Tiny.”
Mrs. Meador was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Clarence Meador in 1997; grandsons, Frank Meador, Jr. and Tracy Jenkins.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Mary Meador of Cayuga; daughters and son-in-law, Sue and Gayland Paroline of Athens, Lavada Jenkins of Cayuga; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The visitation hours of the Cooper Funeral Home are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The family will receive condolences at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Bethel-Cayuga Volunteer Fire Department, PO. Box 329 Cayuga, Texas, 75832.
ATHENS — Memorial services for Charlene Hollingsworth, 52, of Athens are scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. O.E. Davis officiating.
Charlene died Nov. 24, 2006, at the East Texas Medical Center in Athens.
She was born in Athens on July 22, 1954, to Billy Wayne Hollingsworth and Inez Morrison Hollingsworth.
Charlene will be remembered for her big smile and jovial greetings extended to her customers at Jam’s Restaurant for 17 years.
Survivors include her husband, John; son, Charles Gaspard of New Orleans, La.; granddaughter, Chauntis Gaspard of Baton Rouge, La.; mother, Inez Morrison Hocutt of Chandler; and sisters, Darlene Sigler of Tyler and Marilyn Monk of Chandler.
Foy Joe Mills
Foy Joe Mills, 76, of Carrollton passed away Nov. 12, 2006. He was born July 9, 1930, in Henderson County.
Foy Joe was the son of Virgil and Loy (Skinner) Mills, who are buried in Athens.
Foy retired from Sears after 47 years of employment. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a past president of Toast Masters International.
Foy was preceded in death by his wife, Billy LaCelia Mills. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Jo Deaver of Garland; son, Aaron A. Mills of Dallas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Janell Robinson of Arlington.
Funeral services were held Nov. 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Porter Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia with the Rev. Bruce Rudd officiating. Mr. Mills was buried in Point Enterprise Cemetery.
Tollie Eveline Wood Vitovsky
Services for Tollie Eveline Wood Vitovsky of Duncanville are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, in the Oaks Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, located at 801 E. I-20. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Tool Cemetery under the direction of Jayne’s Memorial Chapel of Duncanville.
Mrs. Vitovsky died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2006, in Duncanville.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday, Dec. 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. The funeral home is located at 811 S. Cockrell Hill Road in Duncanville.
Services for Donald Chanell are pending with Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Mr. Chanell died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006.
