ATHENS-Services for LaVerne Morgan Butler, 93, Athens are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with Charles Kenneth Butler and the Rev. Andre Ward officiating.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Butler died March 13, 2013 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 23, 1919 in the Baxter Community in Henderson County to the late Rufus Holland and Lula Belle Morgan. Mrs. Butler formerly lived in Dallas 33 years before moving to Athens in 1972. She was a member of LaRue United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Butler, Nov. 27, 1992, brother Guy Morgan, Joe Morgan, Wilson Morgan, sisters Alberta Corder, Mamie Ray, Willie Farrell and Oma Baker.
Survivors include a son Charles Vaughn Butler and wife Ann, Midlothian, grandsons Charles Kenneth Butler and wife Danetta, Curtis Wayne Butler and wife Carolyn, Kevin Lee Butler and wife Shawn, great-grandchildren Charles Jordan, Grayson, Jacob, Joe, Morgan, Abigail, Charles Nathaniel and Amelia Butler.
Grandsons of Mr. and Mrs. Lofton Harris of Jacksonville will serve as pallbearers.
Nephews from the Morgan and Butler families will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation for family and friends will be 1 p.m., until service time Sunday.
