Services for Eiland Edward Palmer, 88, of Canton, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Jan. 6, 2014 at Eubank Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Glosup officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.
Burial will be in Haven of Memories, Canton.
He passed away Jan. 4, 2014 in Athens.
Mr. Palmer was born March 29, 1925 in Murchison, to Henry Bonner and Eula Velma Palmer.
Eiland was married for 20 years to his precious wife Anita. He was a Christian by faith. He was raised in Murchison, and graduated from Brownsboro High School.
Eiland served his country during World War II. He drove a truck for Curtis Mathis and several other companies. He enjoyed being outdoors, raising horses, working puzzles and reading, and he was a very intelligent man.
Surviving are: wife, Anita Marie Palmer of Canton; son, Edward Palmer of LaRue; sister-in-law, Patricia Bennett of Carrollton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Eiland was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Robert Palmer; and brother, Melvin Palmer.
Family will receive friends Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
