ATHENS —
Annett Mageors Orr was born June 16, 1939 in Victoria. She was born into eternal life on Nov. 22, 2012 at home. Parents are Minnie Lorene Box Mageors, and Jimmy Lee Majeors.
Annett was raised and educated in Dallas. She had two children by previous marriage: Susan Denise (Bass) Garthwaite and Jimmy Curtis Miller.
Annett, Susan and Jimmy were converts to the Catholic faith, and were baptized at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Dallas.
Annett met Lee Roy Orr, Jr., a Mesquite Police Officer, in January, 1971.
Annett and Lee were married on Oct. 23, 1971, and Lee adopted Jimmy Curtis Miller. Jimmy’s name was changed to Jimmy Lee Orr at the time of the adoption. Annett gave birth to Bryan Lee Orr March 19, 1973. Annett and Lee lived in Mesquite until June, 1996, when they moved to the Tri-County area. Annett was Lee’s best friend and darling spouse until her being born into eternal life.
Annett was preceeded in death by her mother, Lorene Mageors, her father Jimmy Mageors, her sister, Ruth Bernice White, her Brothers, Jimmy Mageors and Bill Mageors, and her son, Jimmy Lee Orr, and her great-grandson, Jonathan, and her niece Sharon Kerr.
Annett is survived by her husband of 41 years, Sir Knight Lee Roy Orr, Jr., her beloved daughter Susan Garthwaite, her beloved son Bryan Lee Orr, four greatly-loved grandsons, a granddaughter, two great-granddaughters and a great-grandson. Annett is also survived by her niece, Cynthia Jilbert.
Annett was a warm and loving person who had many good friends, whom she deeply loved and treasured. Annett and Lee are members of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City.
