Patsy Elaine Arnhart

Athens — Patsy Elaine Arnhart of Cedar Creek Lake was born on June 9, 1941 and went to her final resting place with our Heavenly Father on Aug. 3, 2013 at 7:06 a.m.  She was 72 years-old, with a great love for Jesus and her family.

Patsy was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Irene Bree.  She is survived by: her husband of 37 years Larry Arnhart; her two children and their spouses, Greg Weadon and wife Cheryl of Midlothian, Paige Sloan and husband Ray of Forney; three stepchildren Mike Arnhart and wife Jan of Arlington, Randall Arnhart and wife Martha of Hallsville and Laura Lammons and husband Carl of Burleson.  She has 11 grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Sloan, Ashley Sloan Ballard and her husband Jeromy, Justice and Ariby Weadon, Chris Arnhart, Bracken, Harris, Truitt and Kaiser Arnhart.

During her 37-year marriage, she was Larry’s true soul mate, best friend and the perfect spouse.  She was a faithful devoted wife who prided herself with a clean house and home-cooked meals.  They enjoyed sitting on their deck every morning to have coffee and just talk.  They were the perfect couple.

After high school, Patsy was a unit leader and cheerleader in the Navy for three years, graduating second in her communications class.  In 1991, she and Larry finally moved to Cedar Creek Lake, a place they truly love.  She was known by all for her faith, but was not afraid to let you know when she thought what you were doing was wrong.  She was known by her grandchildren for her very important life lessons.  She also enjoyed teaching them how to cook and bake, play the card game Hand & Foot and Yahtzee.  Patsy loved her family and enjoyed having a house full of family and friends.

Patsy was an avid card player and so enjoyed going to eat and playing cards with her friends every Thursday evening.  Another of her favorite things to do was going to lunch at the Tea Room in Mabank with her friends.  She was loved by many people, all who have said she was one of the best friends they had ever had. She will be sorely missed.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 3 p.m. at the Payne Springs United Methodist Church, 9667 State Highway 198, Mabank, TX 75156.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Patsy’s honor.
