ATHENS-Memorial services for Loreta Faye Jones, 78, Brownsboro are scheduled for 4 p.m., Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Brownsboro with the Rev. Buddy Powell and Larry McDaniel.
Mrs. Jones passed away on June 25, 2013 at her residence in Brownsboro.
She was born Aug. 30, 1934 in Brownsboro to the late Jacob and Chloe Anther Brown.
Loreta was a graduate of Brownsboro High School and a lifelong resident of Brownsboro. She married Bill Stone in her early 20s, and was married for 15 years when he passed away. They had two children, Robert Stone and Laurie Stone. She married again to George Jones on Sept. 5, 1972, and he already had two daughters.
Loreta was very involved with her family and community. She was a long time member at First United Methodist Church, Brownsboro. She always wore a smile, and was a great pleasure to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Starling and Vergie McKnight, her parents and her brother, Don McDaniel.
Survivors are: husband, George Jones, Brownsboro; son, Bob Stone, Chandler; daughter, Laurie Stone, Brownsboro; granddaughters, Dori Harrod, Athens, Jennifer and Joni Yow, Brownsboro; seven great-grandchildren; and two stepdaughters, Rhonda McKee, Cindy Mitchell, both of Murchison; four step-grandchildren; brother, Gary McDaniel and Kaye, Longview; sister, Dorothy Norris and Larry, Canton; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
