ATHENS-Funeral services for Bea Waters, 89, Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Palmer officiating.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Waters passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 in Athens.
She was born Aug. 26, 1924 in Henderson County to Robert Graham and Angie Green Godwin. Bea had been a resident of Athens all her life. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Bea was a great seamstress, singer and cook. She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers.
She is preceded in death by daughter Bobbie Nell Parker and two grandchildren.
Survivors include: husband of 55 years Wiley Waters, Athens; son Jerry D. Holland and wife Kathy, Montgomery; sisters Loy Jackson and husband James, Bethel, Joy Wright and husband Wilbur, Jacksonville; grandchildren Leslie Brewer, Jones Creek, Sunny Cain, Carson City, Nevada, Lindsey Knight, Katy, Meagan Whitfield, Katy; great-grandchildren Kayla Holcomb, Timothy Holcomb and Marshall Holcomb, all of Brushy Creek; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Holcomb, Marshall Holcomb, Mason Whitfield, Dwayne Edwards, Casey Knight and Robert Edwards.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6 p .m. to 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
