Athens– Memorial Services for Donald Vandiver, 57, of Athens are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Vandiver passed away on June 23, 2014 in Tarrant County, Texas.
Donald Morris Vandiver was born August 3, 1956 the son of Wilson Pierce Vandiver and Bonnie Gladys Christie Vandiver. Donald was a Baptist and a hardworking lineman foreman for over 40 years. The two loves in his life were his Family and Duck Dynasty. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Patsy Hilton and three brothers, Roger Dale Vandiver, Larry Vandiver and Dan Vandiver.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonita Mitchell Vandiver of Athens; two daughters, Amy Stout and Lynn Lawrence of Larue, Kristi Stout and Jason McCord of Larue; three brothers, David Vandiver and wife Darlena of Brownsboro, Johnny Vandiver and wife Cindy of Fairbanks, Alaska, Robert Vandiver and wife Angie of Athens; four grandchildren, Jacob Stout, Susie Stout, Cameron Stout, Rusti Stout; one soon to be great grandchild, Brentlee Donald Stout; his mother in law, Patricia Mitchell of Athens; two brothers in law, Mike Mitchell and wife Diane of Athens, Bruce Mitchell and wife Elsie of Athens; numerous nieces and nephews and his children, Amy Godwin and husband Rodney and Joe Don Vandiver and wife Sara.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Stout, Cameron Stout, Josh Mitchell and Tristan Davis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be David Vandiver, Johnny Vandiver, Robert Vandiver, Tony Hilton and Bruce Mitchell.
The family will visit with friends from 10-11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
