EUSTACE — Murchison – Funeral services for Shelia Stanford, 82, of Murchison are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Hope Assembly of God in Murchison with Rev. Wes Wuerch officiating.  Interment will follow at Red Hill Cemetery near Murchison. 

    Ms. Stanford went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2014 in Murchison, Texas.

Shelia Doris Stanford was born May 11, 1932 in Kilgore, Texas the daughter of Joseph Carter Long and Evelyn Eunice Harrell Long.  She graduated from Cayuga High School and then attended the Stamps Baxter School of Music.  She then married William Leon Stanford and began ministering to all she came in contact with.  They pastored at a church in Wichita Falls, Texas and several others, and she especially ministered through her music.  She loved to sing and play the piano, organ and the accordian.    She also spent many years serving others through her loving service as a home healthcare provider.  NeMaw enjoyed cooking but her most special time was spending time with her family.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband William Stanford, her parents and a daughter, Zandalyn Kay Stanford.  

She is survived by her three loving daughters, Tanzala Jock and husband Doug of Tennessee Colony, Texas, Angela England and husband Daniel of Murchison, Texas, Marshala “MarDe” Stanford of Mansfield, Texas; seven grandchildren, Brandon Thornsberry, Brittany Thornsberry, Casey Stanford, Daniel Jock, Anna Jock, Shayla England, Shawn England; six great grandchildren, Madison, Brooklyne, Braylin, Payton, Brynlee and Hunter. 

Serving as Pallbearers will be Shawn England, Daniel Jock, Casey Stanford, Greg Jock, James Hart, Jim Alan Hart, Randy Due, Jacob Due, John Patton.

A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family of Athens, Texas.
