Betty Louise Souter

Athens — Athens – Graveside services for Betty Goss Souter, 85, of Athens, Texas formerly of Mission, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, Texas with Bro. Gilbert Galdiano officiating. 

Ms. Souter went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2014 in Athens, Texas.

Betty Louise Goss Souter was born April 25, 1929 in May, Texas the daughter of Rex A. Goss and Dometra Holamon Goss.  She was a dedicated member of the Central Church of Christ in Athens and was a very talented pianist and singer.  She loved to cook, sew, travel, shop and visit relatives.  Betty truly enjoyed harvesting fruits and vegetables and to clown around and play practical jokes.  She loved all animals especially her cats and she was a fan of old movies and Loony Tunes.  Her most special moments were spent watching her granddaughter’s ballet dancing. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Ernest Souter, her parents, a brother Kent Goss, a daughter Carole Creech and an infant great granddaughter Jaydah Terry.    

She is survived by her two loving daughters, Sherry Souter Nusko and Cynthia “Cindy” Souter Bradley both of Athens, Texas; two special granddaughters, Crystal Terry and husband Bry of Seattle, Washington; Dana Creech and special friend Dallas Ysquierdo of Donna, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Miller and husband Leo of Slidell, Louisiana; Kay Leal of Katy, Texas; a daughter in law, Aline Finlan of Slidell, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Sherry, Stephanie, John Souter; three great granddaughters, one great grandson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
