Vennie Paris Hart

Athens — ATHENS-Services for Vennie Paris Hart, 90, Athens ,are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Palmer officiating.

Burial will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery in Van Zandt County.

Mrs. Hart died Tuesday, July 27, 2010.

She was born Nov. 4, 1919 in the Bethel Community to John Bethel and Ava Howard Elledge, and was a life-long resident of the county. She was a member of Crescent Heights United Methodist Church.

Vennie formerly worked for Kidd-Jones 10 years. She was an avid fisherman, cook, and domino player.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Waymon Paris, son Glynn Paris, infant daughter Betty Jo Hart, brothers Mason and Bill Elledge, sisters May Sutton, Aubrey Hightower, Bonnie Quinn, Dovie Dobb, Bobbie Elledge, Shirley Weesner and Althea Wilson.

Survivors include daughter Linda Ragland and husband Robert, Athens; son Bobby Ray Hart, Athens; daughter-in-law Dorothy Paris, Athens; grandchildren Brad Hart and wife Cary, Houston, Jason Hart, Athens, Justin Hart and wife Julena, Athens, Bobby Paris, Athens, Robyn Hart, Dallas, Calinda Brooks and husband Steve, Wilmer, Brook Baugh and husband Dustin, Houston,  Jennifer Ragland, Corsicana, sister Ruth Greer, Tyler.

Pallbearers will be Brad Hart, Dustin Baugh, Jason Hart, Steve Brooks, Justin Hart and Bubba Hays.

Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Wilson, Gene Dodd, Robert Ragland.

Visitation for family and friends is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Friday at the funeral home.
