Sherry Trammell

Athens — Athens- Funeral services for Sherry Trammell, 56, of Athens, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating.  Interment will follow at Beck’s Chapel Cemetery near Cross Roads, Texas.

Ms. Trammell went to be with her Savior on July 2, 2014 in Athens, Texas.

Sherry Louise Carter Trammell was born September 24, 1957 in Malakoff, Texas the daughter of Eugene Carter and Louise Hope Carter.  She was an active member of the Living for the Brand Cowboy Church who was strong in her faith.  She was known to always have a positive attitude and a smile on her face, even on the bad days.  Sherry’s loved being involved with her family, going to grandkids ballgames, practices and awards ceremonies.  Life involved fellowshipping, BBQ’s, four wheeling and friends.  She enjoyed riding and training horses on her ranch in Cross Roads.  She worked at Oakwood Place as a caregiver and touched hearts and lives everywhere she went.  She will be missed by all she knew and loved and there will be a void in our hearts forever, but in time God will heal our tears and help us through as we all know she is with her “Honey Baby” now, riding their horses on the Streets of Gold.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry “Red” Trammell and her brother Tommy Lee Carter.

She is survived by her children; Jenny Cooley and husband Jason of Athens, Jason Hardin and wife Tara of Athens, Jenni Griffith and husband Robert of Colleyville; two brothers, Fred Carter and wife Mary of Mabank, Gary Carter and wife Celeda of Cedar Hill; twelve grandchildren, Dylan Hart, Cody Hart, Tatym Hardin, Cade Hardin, Charley Hardin, Parker Whitley, Braden Whitley, Aubrey Griffith, Austin Griffith, Aiden Griffith, Haley Cooley, Blake Cooley.  She is also survived by Mr. Henry Hardin.

Pallbearers will be Terry Thomas, Dylan Hart, Gene Dodd, Joshua Gatlin, Shane Worthy and Damon Trammell.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Dodd, Harold Paul, H.L. Beaubien, Troy Black, Cody Hart and Parker Whitley.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on July 9, 2014 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the Trammell Family would like donations made to: The Sherry C. Trammell Memorial Fund, Prosperity Bank

Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family.
