Funeral services for Alyne Elisabeth Wortham Frost, of Marshall will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at Carroll Lehr Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Fred Bird officiating.
Interment will follow at Willow Springs Cemetery.
Alyne passed away Feb. 10, 2014 at the age of 97.
She was born in Wofford, near Athens, July 2, 1916. Alyne served as a teacher/principal in Tennessee, West Virginia and North Carolina.
Following her retirement from Eliada Home for Children in North Carolina she served as a missionary/teacher in Papua, New Guinea.
Alyne was preceded in death by: her husband, Kenneth Albert Frost; parents, Albert and Maggie Wortham; brother A.W. Wortham; and sister Marcella Prehler.
She is survived by: three sons, Richard and his wife Mary, of Marshall, Harold and his wife Sharon, and James and his wife Mary Alice, both of Ashville, N.C.; brothers, J.L.Wortham of Fort Worth and Joseph Wortham of Myakka, Fla.; granddaughters Elisabeth and husband Joseph Donovan and Sarah Kate and her husband David Rogers, both of Ashville, N.C.; grandson Robert Frost and companion Dona Murphy, Longview; great-granddaughter Shelby and her husband David Ramirez; and one great-great-granddaughter, Kinzley Ramirez, all of Tyler.
Visitation for family and friends will be 1 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
