Athens — Athens –Graveside services for Virginia Boase, 90, of Athens, Texas are scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at Gladewater Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

Ms. Boase went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 in Athens.  

Virginia Mae Driggers Boase was born Aug. 23, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of James Clifford Driggers and Mary Carlton Driggers.   She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kilgore, and was a faithful member of the Messenger Sunday School Class.  She took great joy in sewing, knitting and crocheting.  Ms. Boase was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ms. Boase was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband H.O. Boase and one sister, Marion Foster. 

She is survived by: her son, Stan Boase and wife Renny of Bryan; her daughter Brenda McCarty and husband John of Athens; one sister, Jo Tigert of Mt. Pleasant; a sister-in-law, Gayle Boase of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Shane Boase, Ty Boase, Kelly Shope and husband Robert, Chris Cox; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
