ATHENS-Graveside services and interment for A. D. Carter, Jr., 84 of Temecula, California are scheduled for 2:00 P M Friday at Post Oak Cemetery with Rev. Larry Fondren officiating. Services are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
Mr. Carter passed away very peacefully April 13, 2014 at his residence in Temecula.
He was born March 6, 1930 in Malakoff to Arthur Dalton and Ruth Elena Cochran Carter. A. D. attended school at Cross Roads. He joined the Navy in 1947 at the age of 17. He served in the Korean War. He completed four years of service and was discharged in 1951. A. D. was a loving husband and father.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life Betty Jo Bishop, his parents, five sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include his wife Bonnie Carter, daughters Brenda Sue Carter , Cheri Linn and husband Buddy all of Temecula, California, brother Howard Carter, Jasper, sisters Bessie Philbrick and Jean Turner, Athens, and many loving nieces and nephews.
