ATHENS —
ATHENS-Services for Roy Dean Hillhouse, 84, Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Duncan officiating.
Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hillhouse died Nov. 11, 2012 in Athens.
He was born Nov. 20, 1927 in Henderson County to Eugene VDebbs and Florene Truss Hillhouse. He served in the U.S. Army 1945-1948, and was honorably-discharged with rank of Corporal.
In 1949, he married Wanda Marcella Adams. They resided in Dallas until 1965, then returned home to Athens. He had a 30-year tenure as an auto mechanic.
Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Florene Barnes, stepfather J. D. Barnes and father Eugene Hillhouse.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Wanda Hillhouse, sons Carlton Hillhouse and wife Shirley, Cross Roads, Roy Wayne Hillhouse and wife Doris, Athens, Justin Hillhouse, Austin, daughters Brenda Orcutt and husband Jerry, Edmond, Okla., Barbara Hillhouse Jackson, Athens, brother Debbs Hillhouse, Athens, sisters Peggy Kirkland and husband Robert, Deany Melton and husband Charles, all of Athens, stepmother Norma Hillhouse, Athens, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Adams, Kelly Hillhouse, Bruce Adams, Dwayne Edwards, Boty Hillhouse and Donald Glen Adams.
Jerry Orcutt will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday.
