ATHENS —
William Allen Beard was born on Oct. 10, 1959 to Raymond and Anita Faye Beard, and passed away on Nov. 7, 2012 surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife Tina Beard of Kaufman; daughter, Nichole Beard of Mt. Pleasant; son, Danny Beard and wife Syrina of Greenville; and daughter, Hannah Bowman of Kaufman. He is also survived by his father, Raymond Beard of Athens, brother Jerry Beard and wife Rita of Katy, and sister, Nora Lambright and husband Michael of Whitehouse.
Allen has four grandchildren: Joshua, Jackson, Peyton and Malachi, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved very much.
He was an active member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church for 10 years, and he considered everybody there his family as well. Allen also retired from Texas Department of Transportation after 28 years of service, and regarded his co-workers and colleagues as close as family also.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Faye. The Celebration of Life for Allen will take place at the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow. In lieu of Flowers, the family asks that donations in Allen's memory be made to the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church at 7650 FM 1388, Kaufman, TX 75142.
