Athens —
Deborah Gwyn Fulgham Wolfe was born Jan. 18, 1951, in Commerce to Dr. and Mrs. Gwin Fulgham, and departed from this world Oct. 13, 2012, while in Chester County, Pennsylvania Hospice after a 3-1/2-year battle with ovarian cancer.
She graduated from Duncanville High School in 1969, where she and her teammates were part of a long winning tradition of the Duncanville Pantherette’s basketball team. Additionally she graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Texas University with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She taught school for a year, but decided that teaching was not for her, so her adventurous spirit led her to travel and flight. She was a flight attendant for 30-plus years.
Deborah had a passion for gardening, was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and fried chicken, had a wit and sense of humor that could match the best, and had a deep love for her family and friends. This love was returned by all to this extraordinary lady.
She met and married Robert Wolfe from Chadds Ford, Pa. She was preceded in death by her brother Stephen Fulgham and is survived by her husband, Robert Wolfe; son, Lindsay Wolfe; and daughter, Callie Wolfe; parents, Dr. and Mrs. Gwin Fulgham of Malakoff; sister, Donna Fulgham (Rodney) of Little Rock, Ark.; brother, Stanley Fulgham (Carol) of Fort Worth; brother, Kevin Fulgham (Margaret) of Athens; sister-in-law, Linda Fulgham of Arlington; and numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Auntie Adorable.”
Also, she left behind lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. Her wit, humor, and affection will be missed forever. A memorial service will be held on Nov. 17, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Alders Gate Fellowship Hall, 403 S. Main St., Duncanville, Texas. Please join us in celebrating Deborah’s life.
Donations can be made in Deborah’s name to either the Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380, or to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), 2501 Oak Lawn Ave., Suite 435, Dallas, TX 75219.
