ATHENS-A memorial service and concert celebrating the life of Robert Benjamin Covert, 32, Athens, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Sunday at Lakeview Lodge, 1801 Flat Creek Road.
Ben died July 27, 2010 in Athens.
He was born March 15, 1978 in Lufkin, and had resided in Athens 20 years. He formerly worked as a chef at Daniel Boone’s Restaurant and Tavern in Tyler. Ben was well-respected among his peers in composition, especially as an artist, poet, song writer and short stories.
Ben lived life by his own rules. He impacted the lives of those who knew him and will never be forgotten. He had wisdom beyond his few short years.
Survivors include his parents Robert Leon and Claudia Lee Nunn Covert, Athens; brothers Christopher Lee Covert, Joseph Garrett Covert, Jason Murray; sisters Mary Delois Lonnon, Kimberly Dianne Eddleman; children Lillianna Cruz, Hannah Beth Covert, Ramzy Draven Osteen, Elijah Waters.
