Graveside services for Arnold E. Redding Sr., 78, of Irving are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Midway Cemetery in Anderson County, Texas. Pastor James Johnson will be officiating.
He passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 in Irving, Texas.
Arnold was born December 16, 1933 in Cookville, Texas to Horace Grover and Ethel Boswell Redding. He married Wilma Jean Berryhill in 1954 at Rockwall, Texas. He was Facilities Manager of a Convention Center for the City of Dallas and a member of Midway Baptist Church in Palestine. “Big Pa” loved being outdoors in the country, farming, and fishing among his favorite things to do. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Edward Redding.
Arnold is survived by his wife Jean Redding of Irving; daughter Gail Schoppe and husband Larry Sr., of Grand Prairie; son Arnold Redding Jr. and wife Rhonda of Irving; sister Hazel Wooten of Canton; two brothers Cecil Redding of Canton and Norman Redding of Grand Saline; one grandson Larry Schoppe Jr; two great grandchildren Kaylie Laryn Schoppe and Hunter Allen Schoppe; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Arnold Redding Jr., Larry Schoppe Sr., Larry Schoppe Jr., & Hunter Schoppe.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, TX.
