LaRue- A recitation of the rosary for the repose soul of Joseph L. Finan, Sr., 83, LaRue, formerly of De Soto, is scheduled for Monday, 6:30 p.m. at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Chapel, Athens.
A Requiem Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday at St. Edwards Catholic Church with Father Pancras Savarimuthu, celebrant with burial scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas, under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.
Mr. Finan died Thursday at his residence.
He was born June 19, 1929 in St. Louis, Mo. to the late William F. and Agnes Naephen Finan.
Mr. Finan was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Athens. He held various managerial positions in his lengthy career, retiring after 65 years of dedicated service with Arthur Fulmer Company, Memphis, Tenn. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Finan, parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Joseph L. Finan Jr. and wife Anny, Olathe, Kans., daughters, Cynthia McNeal and husband Steven, LaRue, Karen Kable and husband Dr. Warren T., Omaha, Neb. Debra Rudduck and husband Russell, DeSoto, 11 grandchildren eight great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Knight of Columbus at St. Edwards Catholic Church.
