TYLER-A memorial service for Helen Kemp, 80 of Tyler, formerly of Athens is scheduled for 2:00 P M Saturday at First Christian Church with Rev. Kern Railsback and Rev. Chris Pulliman officiating.
Helen passed away April 3, 2014 in Tyler.
She was born July 15, 1933 in Roanoke, Alabama to the late James Elmer and Grace Louise Ward Houze. Helen had resided in Athens 14 years and was a member of First Christian Church. She worked at the Food Pantry 10 years and was a member of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) two years as well as being a member of Red Hat Society. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. All who knew her loved her and will miss her sweet smile.
Survivors include her husband Harfon Kemp, Tyler; children Barbara Halada, Centerville, Virginia, Bobby Kemp, Lindale, Gary Kemp, Gadsden, Alabama; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
