Memorial services for Nancy Dale Slagle, 72 of Athens will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Springfield United Methodist Church, 2399 Anderson County Road 468, with the Rev. Glenn Taylor officiating.
Mrs. Slagle passed away Nov. 16, 2012 in Tyler from injuries sustained in a motor-vehicle accident in which her husband, Gene Slagle survived.
Nancy Dale (Durham) Slagle was born July 27,1940 to Robert Clyde "Bob" Durham and Nancy Cecil (Scott) Durham in Henderson County. She married William Eugene "Gene" Slagle on March 6, 1959. Dale and Gene spent their entire life together working toward their dreams.
She is survived by her children Robyn Nicole Slagle and Denise Rast and Michael and Tina (Garcia) Slagle; granddaughters Debbie Slagle and Sabrina (Slagle) and Brice Ayres; sisters Dolly Barkley and Dot and Tommy Barnett; brothers David and Sharon Durham and Dink and Ludene Durham; sister-in-law Peggy Durham Chapman; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and the extended family from Country Oaks Golf Course.
She was preceded in death by brothers Dalton Durham and Dent Durham, brother-in-law Joe Barkley, sister-in-law Dorothy Lacy and brother-in-law Claude Lacy.
