Fannie Jane “Janie” Richardson Crippen, 77, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie Richardson; her loving husband of 57 years, Charles Crippen; two brothers and two sisters. Janie is survived by her son, John Mark Crippen and his wife, Toni; daughter, Cathy Hansen and her husband, Les; grandchildren, Amanda Stubblefield, Jonathan Hansen and fiancé, (soon to be Aunt Julie ) Julie Eberhardt, and Megan Crippen; great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jayden and Joshua Stubblefield; and a host of other family and friends.
Janie was very skilled with her hands and grew cotton in her flowerbed and hand-made pillows for her family. She was a skilled seamstress when she was young and made many of Cathy’s clothes. Janie was a big Houston Rockets fan and never missed a chance to see a televised game. Every Christmas she made each family member their own favorite dessert. She was an animal lover and daily watched a couple of websites of hawks and bears. Janie was an avid reader and conversationalist. She was very strong in her faith and enjoyed studying her Bible; her favorite passage was Hebrews 10:7. Janie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation and funeral service for Janie will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Southview Baptist Church, 23003 South Hwy 288, Rosharon, Texas 77583. The visitation will begin at 8:30 am and the funeral service will start at 10:00 am with Pastor Steve Brumbelow officiating. The interment and graveside service will be held at Davis Cemetery in Baxter, Texas at 3:30 pm. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.claytonfuneralhomes.com.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made in her memory to Southview Baptist Church.
