Danny Reece Woolf Sr. was born March 7, 1958 in Seminole, Texas to mother Ardis Walker and father Ken Dale Gene Woolf. Danny Woolf, Sr. passed away at the age of 55 on Sept. 5, 2013 in Tyler.
Danny was a resident of Styx for 11 years, formerly living in Kaufman. Danny worked most of his life as a truck driver allowing him to travel many places and make friends over all of the country. In his spare time, Danny enjoyed: tending to his animals, his two mules, LullaBelle and Miss Sally; fishing at the back pond; and fixing old cars and trucks with his two sons. Danny also loved spending time with his girlfriend and two sons at their baseball games.
Danny Woolf, Sr. was a survivor of cancer and always had a optimistic outlook when it came to his treatments. When at M.D. Anderson for his treatments, Danny would speak positive to other patients and bring light to the dim situations. Danny's doctors called him their "star patient."
Survivors include: his son, Danny Woolf, Jr. of Styx, Texas; daughter, Casey Woolf of Canton; mother, Ardis Zamarano of Illinois; sisters, Joy Woolf Woodhall of Nebraska and Lenea Zamarano of California; brother Sonny Hornbeck of Illinois; his love, Sandra Lobban of Mabank;
Danny Woolf, Sr. had to get platelet and hemoglobin as part of his treatment and the family asks, as he always did, please donate blood if you are able. It saves many lives.
Services will be held at New Beginnings Baptist Church in Kemp on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Bud Underwood Officiating.
