He was born on Aug. 30, 1930, in Farmers Branch to the late John Martin and Mary Bell Worthy. John served in the Marine Corp as part of the first Marine Division during the Korean War as a raider. As part of this affiliation with the Department, he spent several years as part of the Trinity Valley Community College Law Enforcement Team. He truly enjoyed his time with the students and educators and until his death was a strong supporter of the TVCC Girls Basketball Team.
