The Athens Review
A memorial service for Robin Stegall Laird is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Athens, with Richard Rutledge and Ernie Albrecht officiating.
She went to her heavenly home Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 in Tyler after an 8-month battle with cancer.
Mrs. Laird, 60, was baptized into Christ on Feb. 19, 1969 in Athens, and she served God faithfully throughout her lifetime. She was a member of Mount Vernon Church of Christ for 20 years.
She was born June 30, 1953 in Athens to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stegall, and attended Athens Public Schools and Henderson County Junior College. She worked as a licensed cosmetologist in the late 1970s and 80s, and founded and operated a cleaning business for 25 years. She taught her family how to love at all times, and continually showed love through her actions. She had a creative mind, and was a self-taught musician (guitar, piano, violin, voice). She and her husband celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in December.
Robin is reunited with her Daddy, Kenneth Ray Stegall.
Those she left behind include: her husband, Russell Laird of Mount Vernon; mother Mary Louise Stegall of Walton; sisters and spouses, Rocky and Jerry Lindamood of Malakoff, and Rayne and Donnie Barfield of Walton; four children and spouses, sons Austin and Ramona Laird of Tyler, and Rustin and Danielle Laird of Mount Vernon; and daughters and spouses Alicen and Jeremy Taylor of Tyler, and Mary Mackennen Laird and fiancé Kevin Harkness of Denton; six grandchildren, Leven, Archer, Eleri, Lyra, Maggie and Kenleigh; and a number of nieces, and nephews, Cameron Lindamood, Jessica Lindamood, Maegan Barfield, Brian Laird, Melissa Laird, Jeremy and Elliott Worsham.
