Pearlee P. Stevens

Athens — Pearlee P. Stevens passed away this past Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013.  She was 95-years-old and had a super-fantastic life.  Everyone that had the privilege of knowing her knew she was a very special person.

She lived through the most dynamic 95 years of U.S. history, the depression, several wars, scientific and medical developments, walking on the moon, and indulgences that her parents could not even think of, such as indoor plumbing, indoor heaters and air conditioners.

Mom grew up in a very small town called, Possum Trot, Tenn.  Yes, I did say “Possum Trot!”  Some of her life’s work included: graduating from high school; joining the Navy in World War II as a WAVE; marrying my Dad; and enjoying 63 years of marital bliss, putting him through medical school…3 times; obtaining her Bachelor’s degree; working as a teacher; and her very most important work as a wonderful, loving Mother to my brother Andy and me.  We are truly blessed to have been chosen to be her children.

Her Memorial Service will be Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at noon in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. inurement will follow at 2 p.m. in the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Spaulding for Children.
