Athens —
Funeral services for Mr. Calhoun C. Harmon, "Big Cappy," 88, LaRue, will be Sunday, 1 p.m., at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Chandler with the Rev. Donald E. Smith, Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery, Chandler under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. Mr. Harmon died Nov. 7, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Harmon was born Oct. 17, 1924 in Henderson County. He graduated from Central High School in the Moore Station community. He was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He served as president of Friendship and Bethel Cemetaries.
He is preceded in death by parents, and one brother.
He is survived by: wife, Georgia Harmon, LaRue; son, John R. Harmon, Sr., Tyler; daughter, Ara Hollis, LaRue; sister, Lucy Bell, Chandler; 10 grandchildren, host of great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Saturday, 1p.m. to 10 p.m.
