Glenda Marie Dingler
Glenda Marie Dingler of LaRue, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Dec. 7, 2007.
She was born March 30, 1955, in Athens to her parents, Jimmy Glen and Billie Marie Richardson. She will be remembered most by her family as a faithful friend, loving wife, precious mother, and devoted daughter. Glenda’s genuine spirit and kind nature was felt by all who knew her. Her infectious laughter would fill the room at any gathering.
Glenda was employed for 14 years at the LaPoynor school system. She was a faithful member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church where she served God with all her heart. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Glen Richardson, in Octo-ber of 2005.
Glenda is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jimmy Dingler; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Amanda Dingler; mother Billie Marie Richardson; brother John Richardson all of LaRue; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Mickie Dingler of LaRue; brother-in-law, Billy Dingler of Austin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley and Nancy Snowden of Hurst; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers include Mar-k Richardson, Connally Howeth, Hal Howeth, Way-ne Carroll, Darrell Miller and Kenny Neely.
Honorary pallbearers include Tommy Burch, Todd Burch, Wayne Miller, Paul Richardson, Dennis Richa-rdson, Russell Richardson, Roger Richardson, Stephen Clark, Andrew Richar-dson, Tommy Dingler and Terry Dingler.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church with Jeff Godwin officiating. Burial will follow at the New York Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Cooper Funeral Home of Athens.
The family will receive condolences at the funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Bonnie Ruth Melton
Funeral services for Bonnie Ruth Melton, 68, of Athens are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Cooper Funeral Home with Jack Matkin officiating.
Burial will follow in the Athens Cemetery.
She passed away in Athens on Friday, Dec. 6, 2007.
Bonnie Melton was born May 2, 1939, in Kaufman County and was reared in the Tolosa Community and graduated from Kemp High School in 1957. She first moved to Athens in 1960 where she married Grady Melton in 1966. Bonnie and Grady soon moved to Arizona for many years until his death in 1995. She returned to Athens in 2001 to be near family. She attended the First United Meth-odist Church of Athens. She was a homemaker who cherished her family and enjoyed gardening, doll-making and decorating.
Survivors include daug-hters and son-in-law, Tracy Elaine and Jeffrey Lambert of Las Vegas, Nevada, Amanda Ruth Melton of Athens; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Edw-ard and Margarett Cain of Athens, Tommy Lee Cain and Kirby Thomas of Athens, Leslie Bill and Frances Cain of Athens, Mickey Joe and Brenda Cain of Athens, Carl D. and Heather Cain of Athens; grandchildren, Lauren Wi-ndischman, Tory Lambert, Brett Lambert all of Las Vegas, Nev.; aunt, Patty Hooker of Athens; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The Cooper Funeral Ho-me visitation hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The family will receive condolences at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
