Henderson County law officers served warrants at two Athens residences Tuesday, resulting in three arrests.

Henderson County Drug Enforcement Unit Investigator Botie Hillhouse said the first warrant was served at a residence on County Road 3925, resulting in the arrest of Ronney M. Harris.

Lt. Kay Langford, acting on information that Harris was in possession of methamphetamine, obtained the warrant from Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Henry Ashford.

At about 2:15 p.m. investigators with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department arrived to execute the warrant. Inside, they found Harris and a quantity of methamphetamine. Officers also found two women and some small children in the home.

Hillhouse said Child Protective Services was notified that the children were in the home with drugs present. Officials said a CPS investigation is pending.

Harris was booked into the Henderson County Jail, charged with possession of a controlled substance in excess of four games and less than 200 grams, with intent to deliver. His bond was set at $100,000. He remained in the Henderson County Jail Wednesday afternoon.

The unit made quick work of the investigation of Harris, Hillhouse said.

“The suspect had only moved to the location and set up his operation about three weeks ago,” Hillhouse said.

DEU investigator Damon Boswell obtained the second warrant from 392nd District Court Judge Carter Tarrance.

At 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, officers arrived at a residence on State Highway 19 North and executed the warrant.

According to Hillhouse, once the residence was secure, a search was conducted using the DEU’s canine, Benny.

Arrests were made on Byron Don Arnold, 47, charged with possession of methamphetamine more than four grams and less than 200 grams, with intent to deliver; and Diana Dee Arnold, 42, charged with possession of over one but less than four grams of methamphetamine.

Byron Arnold’s bond was set at $100,000. Diana Arnold’s bond was set at $25,000.

The couple remained in the Henderson County Jail, as of Wednesday afternoon.
