Christmas is coming to Cedar Creek Lake, starting this weekend.
Saturday starts off with the Mabank Tour Of Homes. Before touring the beautifully-decorated homes, brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tri-County Library. The home tour will start about noon.
Homes belonging to Jan Austin, Jan Groom, Angie Mellorn and Mike and Susie Kinder will all be part of the tour. Also being toured will be First State Bank in Mabank and the Mabank Independent School District Administration building.
The Tour of Homes is sponsored by the Mabank Garden Club and Mabank Branch of the Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets for the tour and brunch are $10, and can be purchased at Tri-County Library, Shorty Soda Shop, First State Bank in Mabank and Bluebonnet Emporium in Gun Barrel City.
Do you want to get your picture take with Santa? Gun Barrel City will have Santa Claus at the fire station on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for picture-taking.
Following your visit with Santa, you can watch the Gun Barrel City Parade. The parade, “A Country Christmas,” will begin at 6 p.m. The floats will start at the GBC Fire Station, and proceed west on State Highway 334 to the Beall’s parking lot, and back to the fire station.
Don't leave yet, as 30 minutes after the Gun Barrel Parade, there will be fireworks show at Gun Barrel City Park. The park is located behind Dairy Queen.
The second annual “Ole Fashion Christmas” in Mabank is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 9. The event is held in downtown Mabank on Market Street. There will be a huge train exhibit, food and entertainment. Don't miss the excitement on Market Street.
The Polar Express model train exhibit will be at Mabank City Hall. There will be activities for the kids and everyone else. Bring the whole family down to Market Street in Mabank.
The City of Eustace will be hosting a Christmas on the Square. The Eustace Christmas Parade will start at 4:30 p.m. The parade will circle the square in Eustace. Following the parade there will be a Christmas on the Square. Santa Claus will be at the square along with other entertainment.
