MABANK - In the time-honored tradition of hometown Christmas celebrations and family-friendly events, Mabank’s Market Street will come alive with the sights and sounds of The Season on Dec. 14, as it’s transformed into “An Ol’ Fashioned Christmas on Market Street.”
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. stroll along beautifully-lit Market Street, listen to live music from several groups, partake of free hot beverages, popcorn, cookies and other goodies as the “snow” falls.
Don’t miss the massive model train exhibit in Mabank City Hall, and story time at Tri-County Library. Costumed dancers from The Dance Connection will also perform.
You’ll be able to load up the family for an authentic hayride through the streets of Mabank, and the little kids will have a great time riding the mini-train before Santa’s arrival at his stage.
There will be a professional photographer on-hand, and the photos will be available that evening at no charge.
Local businesses and clubs are providing free craft and kids’ activities throughout the evening.
According to Scott Confer, Chairman of the Mabank Chapter of Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Executive Director of Mabank EDC, “We started this tradition a few years ago, with the goal in mind of providing a wonderful holiday experience for the local citizens, someplace they can go, and for an evening, enjoy a traditional celebration with friends and neighbors. We’re happy to be able to do this for the community at no charge to the public.”
Confer went on to explain that anyone interested in being a vendor must be giving something away to the public, and not selling a product.
This annual event is sponsored by the Mabank Chapter of Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Mabank.
