Four 4-wheelers stolen

Theft discovered as employees of Brinson Ford arrived for work

Athens — The Athens Police Department is investigating the theft of four all-terrain vehicles reported stolen from Brinson Ford on Thursday.

According to APD reports, the theft was discovered as employees arrived for work at the business located in the 2900 block of East State Highway 31, near Loop 7.

At about 7:45 a.m., APD dispatch received a call from one of the managers at the dealership, reporting that four 4-wheelers had been removed from the business.

Cpl. Jason Bosher was dispatched to the location, where he took a report from the store official.

According to police reports, entry was made into the business through a hole cut in a fence on the south side of the property.

Bosher reported that one of the missing 4-wheelers was recovered in a pasture behind the Brinson dealership.  

Officer Marshall Passons and Det. Christopher Saylors assisted Bosher at the scene. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
