Eustace student raising funds for D.C. trip

EUSTACE — David Moss, a freshman at Eustace High School, has been nominated to attend the prestigious National Youth Leaders Forum to be held in Washington, D.C.

The forum, which deals with law and crime scene investigation, is to be held July 9-14.

Moss has wanted to work within the law since he was 6. He attended elementary and middle school in Rice before moving to Eustace. He was also a member of  the Rice First Baptist Church.

Moss plays basketball and baseball and he is a member at the First Baptist Church in Eustace. He has worked very diligently in school and strives to be a self-achiever and motivator. His hobbies include riding bikes, swimming, board games, outdoor sports, playing Xbox Guitar Hero and wrestling with his siblings.

Since 2000, there have only been five other students from Eustace who have attended this event for other fields of study. Moss will be the first to attend the Law and CSI forum.

Moss is raising funds for this trip, which will require $1,795 in tuition (covers hotel, breakfast, dinner, activities, materials, bus to all events), a $600 round trip airline ticket from Dallas to D.C., $175 for airline insurance for baggage, etc..), gas to and from the airport (180 miles round trip), $50 shuttle in D.C, lunches for six days, professional wardrobe (suits, ties, dress shirts, dress shoes, dress socks, khakis, collard shirts) and a souvenir.

His tuition must be paid by March 8.
