Athens — Friday is the last day to join the thousands of Henderson County citizens who decided to vote early in the Nov. 6 General Election.

Wednesday was another strong day of early voting with about 1,000 casting ballots at either the Henderson County Election Center on Larkin Street, the Seven Points City Hall or the Chandler Community Center.

The Seven Points location closes Friday at 4 p.m., while the Athens and Chandler boxes close at 5 p.m.

More than 1,000 early voters came out on Wednesday, after more than 1,200 were recorded on Tuesday. The county is on a pace to challenge the 2008 early vote of 15,968, and the 12,280 recorded in 2004.
