The Athens Review
Ninety-six runners slushed through mud, waded through tank ponds, scrambled up embankments, and fought through briarpatches on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the 1st Annual Henderson County Young Life 5K Mud Run. Funds raised from the event support the local Young Life program - a non-denominational outreach to high school students. At left is a photo of runners Krystl Smith and Janice Hankins after the fact. Shown below, Young Life Committee Chair Jeremiah Diamond starts the first wave of runners, a group of 21 from Lakeland Medical Associates in Athens.
