Athens — Gun Barrel City Police arrested a 37-year-old man Tuesday who is accused of taking an improper photo of a woman shopping at Walmart.

Christopher Lee Pomroy of Gun Barrel City was booked into the Henderson County Jail charged with possession of child pornography and improper photography or visual recording. Bond on the felony charges was set at $30,000.

According to GBC police reports, on Sept. 1, Officer Justin Keahey responded to Walmart in regard to a man taking photographs with his cell phone of a woman in the store.

Keahey arrived and made contact with the complainant who reported that while she was shopping, an unknown white male had knelt down and took a photograph underneath the victim’s dress with his cell phone.

Keahey subsequently completed the report, based on the information given to him by the female victim. Keahey later learned the identity of the male suspect to be Pomroy.  Keahey obtained video from Walmart which supported the victim’s report.

Police reports state Keahey secured an arrest warrant on Pomroy on Sept. 10 from Gun Barrel City Municipal Court Judge Rhonda Peterson. Later that day, Keahey and others with the GBCPD arrived at Pomroy’s residence and took him into custody for the warrant.

While at the Gun Barrel City Police Department, a search of Pomroy’s personal cell phone revealed photographs that are believed to be related to child pornography.
