CCL Parrot Head Club announces scholarships and more

The Cedar Creek Lake club keeps giving back to local community

The Cedar Creek Lake Parrot Head Club has   announced that once again they are offering $5,000 in scholarships for graduating Seniors from the High Schools surrounding Cedar Creek Lake.

They will be awarding $1,000 to a graduating Senior from Mabank, Kemp, Eustace, Trinidad and Malakoff.  Application forms are available with the Counselors at each High School and the deadline is April 19th.

In honor of one of our Members - the Mabank High School Scholarship is now the Gary Johnson Memorial Scholarship presented by the Cedar Creek Lake Parrot Head Club.

If you know a graduating Senior have them apply!

On March 23rd the Cedar Creek Lake Parrot Head Club is holding the First Corn Hole Tournament at the Cedar Creek Brewery in Seven Points to benefit the Cedar Creek Lake Humane Society.  Everyone is invited to go out even if you’re not playing and enjoy the Brewery!

The event starts at noon - Entry in the Corn hole Tournament is $20.00 for a two person team - entry forms available at the Brewery or sign up at the event.

The Humane Society will have pets for adoption. In addition to lots of fun there will be hotdogs, hamburgers, soft drinks and water for sale.

 The Brewery will be holding tours from Noon until 3 PM - for $7.00 you get a Cedar Creek Brewery glass and get to taste some fantastic beer. 

The Parrot Head Club pro Oehlers Landing - the Handicap Accessible Fishing Pier at Tom Finley Park will be dedicated on April 6th at 11 AM and then it will then be open to the public.

 This pier was built to honor  Disabled and our Military Service Members and is named in honor of a long time Parrot Head, Veteran, and Community Activist - Eddie Oehlers.

Dedication bricks are still available at the club’s website  for $50.00.  Deadline to purchase to have them installed prior to the Dedication Ceremony is March 15th.

Please join us in dedicating this tremendous addition to the Cedar Creek Lake Community!

The club will once again be sponsoring and running the Olympic Village at the Mabank Special Olympic Event – April 13th at the Mabank Jr. High staring around 9 AM.  

There will be games, activities, face painting, temporary tattoos and pictures on the USS FLIP FLOP – the Cedar Creek Lake Parrot Head Club – Pirate Ship.  Many of the members will be volunteering for this event.
