The Athens Review
The Diary of Anne Frank, the story of the adolescent jewish girl who came of age while hiding in an attic from the Nazis, has inspired hope and inspiration for more than half a century to those facing life-and-death crises in their own lives.
Now, in an effort to raise money for breast cancer research, the Cain Center will be the site of the Paint-for-Hope, Paint-for-the-Cure event Monday at 6 p.m.
Paint-for-Hope. Paint for a Cure, will give local wannabe artists a chance to discover their inner van Gogh, at least for a day.
For a $40 or $50 contribution, you can pull up an easel, a brush with a palette of paints, and fill up your canvas with some-pre-paint step-by-step instructions from Mabank's Stop-N-Gogh Art Studio's proprietor, Britney Howard.
All profits will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to support breast cancer research.
The $40 contribution will get you an 11x14 canvas to recreate the art and soul of a woman from the work of an unknown artist.
For more information, contact Shannon at the Cain Center to reserve your spot. 903-677-2001. The Stop-N-Gogh Art Studio is located at 1020 S. Third St.
