Best Christmas Pageant Ever

HCPAC prepares for holiday classic

The Athens Review

Athens — The Henderson County Performing Arts Center with co-producer, Hydraulic Power Services, announces the 21th anniversary family holiday classic, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

The production highlights actors from the YES! Company - Youth Actors on Stage.

The cast of 38 in this production includes actors ages 5 to 14.

The story line follows a small-town Christmas pageant like so many around the country.  Enter the Herdmans who are the worst kids in the history of the world. They lie, steal, smoke cigars, swear, and hit little kids. So no one is prepared when this outlaw family invades church one Sunday and decides to take over the annual Christmas pageant.

None of the Herdmans has ever heard the Christmas story before. Their interpretation of the tale — the Wise Men are a bunch of dirty spies and Herod needs a good beating — has a lot of people up in arms. But it will make this year’s pageant the most unusual anyone has seen and, just possibly, the best one ever.

The show features JoJo Weinstein as Grace Bradley, Reagan Gore as Bob Bradley, Lauryn Gore as Beth Bradley, Samuel Clarke as Charlie Bradley, Ryan Weinstein as Alice Wendleken, Guillaume Wandres as Leroy Herdman, Ryan Kirksey as Imogene Herdman, Aidan Kocian as Ralph Herdman, Isabelle Wandres as Gladys Herdman, Matthew Collins as Claude Herdman, Tristin Catugal as Ollie Herdman, Ethan McGlaun as Elmer Hopkins, Garrison Ivey as Reverend Hopkins, Kasey Arnette as Mrs. Armstrong, Kaylee Holyfield as Mrs. Slocum, Lauren Pickle as Mrs. McCarthy, Rachel Risko as Mrs. Clark, TyAnne Rightenour as Mrs. Clausing, Cassie McDonald as Maxine, Olivia Lemmon as Hobie, Phoenix Franklin as Julie, Chloe Sherman as Linda, Shiloh Bartee as Jean, Morgan Gould as Eloise, Amelia Varos as Beverly, Nevaeh Salinas as Diane, Journey Griffin as Channing, Gracie Ivey as Megan, Luna Hernandez as Karen, Caroline Wandres as Fran, Deacon Bartee as Carl, Emma Kirksey as Shirley, Violet Lemmon as Juanita, Jonas Akin as Terry, William Lemmon as Captain Cory Cantrell, Firefighter, Ashley Oberg as Susan “Sparky” Sparkman, Firefighter, Ali Beth Clarke as Lana “Ladder Lady” Lewis, Firefighter and Katie Erck as Nellie “Nitro” Nelson, Firefighter.
