A man, who allegedly stole a 4-wheeler, and wrecked the vehicle trying to outrun the pursuing Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested in Athens last week.
Jesse Bud Graham, 28, was booked into the Henderson County Jail, with bond set at $12,500 for evading arrest with a motor vehicle and theft. He had also been wanted on an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.
HCSO reports say dispatch received a report on Dec. 22, that a 4-wheeler and trailer had been taken from a residence in the Brownsboro area. Investigator Kendall Wellman was assigned the case, and began looking for stolen items.
On Dec. 23, Investigators saw the 4-wheeler traveling east on Loop 7, and recognized Graham as the driver. Knowing Graham was wanted for the parole violation, the officers attempted a stop.
HCSO reports say Graham did not stop, and tried to evade the HCSO officers. He drove the 4-wheeler into a wooded area just off U.S. Highway 175W.
At this point, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers joined the chase. After a short distance, Graham wrecked the 4-wheeler, and fled on foot. Soon, the officers caught Graham, arrested him and transported him to jail.
Wellman contacted the owner of the four wheeler, and told where it could be located.
He is continuing the HCSO investigation, which could result is more arrests.
