The board of Directors of the Athens Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) selected officers for the Corporation at its annual meeting in November.
AEDC is funded by a one-half-cent sales tax in the City of Athens for economic development.
The Corporation is governed by a 7-member board which is appointed by the City of Athens.
Officers for the new year are:
• Chairman, Robert Gould,
• First Vice Chairman, W.P. “Rip” Drumgoole,
• Second Vice Chairman, Pat Wallace,
• Treasurer, Dan Dwelle,
• Secretary, Shirley Ward.
Gould replaces David Daniels as Chairman. Daniels served as Chairman since June, 2007.
Gould stated that “he is looking forward to working with the Board and the Athens City Council on helping Athens grow.”
He also stated that he appreciated the work that Daniels had done during the past.
Gould has been active in Athens growth and development, and has also served on the Athens City Council.
The Council approved the AEDC officers at its regular meeting on Nov. 23.
