A Dallas area woman faces multiple charges after attempting to use a fictitious credit card at an Athens business.
Judy Collier Holliday, 45, was held in the Henderson County Jail Friday, charged with fraudulent use of identifying information, possession of a dangerous drug and evading arrest and detention.
She was also held on a Dallas County warrant for fraudulent use of identifying information.
Arresting Officer Chad Walker indicated the suspect may well be well-schooled in performing the violations.
Thursday afternoon, APD received a call from Hibbets Sports that a woman was in the store fitting the description of someone who had previously used a stolen credit card at the store. Store officials told police that the woman had made off with $600-$700 worth of merchandise using the stolen cards.
“I went up there about 10-’till-six, and made contact with her,” Walker said. “I got her outside and began talking to her, and found that she had five different credit cards with five different names.”
Walker said Holliday also had another woman’s driver’s license in her possession. The officer ran her identification through the system, and found that she was wanted in Dallas County warrants for theft of service, possession of a controlled substance, and fraudulent use of identifying information.
“We started searching her vehicle, and when we started searching she ran,” Walker said.
Walker caught Holliday at the CVS parking lot on East Tyler Street, handcuffed her, and continued to search her vehicle.
The additional search revealed a bottle with nine prescription pills. Cpl. Gregory Hill and Officer Christopher Saylors assisted Walker in the case.
Walker said the investigation is far from complete.
“It’s a big case. It’s going to take a couple of days for me to get it all worked out, and find out where all the credit cards were stolen,” Walker said.
