From staff reports
A Eustace-area drug search Monday led to two arrests, according to Henderson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
William Gaylon McCalister, 64, was booked on a charge of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance (4 to 200 grams). Bond for McCalister was set at $100,000. James Glenn Gregg was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (1 to 4 ounces), and is held in lieu of $25,000 bond. Both remained in custody Tuesday afternoon.
HCSO reports said Precinct 6 Justice of the Peace Milton Adams issued a search warrant for a residence near Eustace Monday.
Drug Enforcement Investigators Ronny Halbert, David Faught and Darrell Waller went to the location, and found a large quantity of a substance the officers suspected to be methamphetamine. The investigators also found digital scales and baggies commonly used to package narcotics for distribution.
Gregg and McCalister were arrested at the scene.
Sheriff Ray Nutt, Major Kevin Hanes, Capt. Kay Langford and Lt. Botie Hillhouse assisted in the case, as well as the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office.
Both suspects have previous drug arrests on their records. Gregg was arrested in 1995 for possession of a controlled substance (1 to 4 grams). McCalister had a 2005 arrest for the same charge.
