Two Seven Points-area men face first degree felony charges after a drug search by Henderson County Sheriff’s Department Deputies Saturday.
Luther Scott Bryson, 34, and Scott Allen Hackler, 41, remained in the Henderson County Jail Monday, each charged with manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (over 400 grams).
The first degree felony carries a punishment of 15-99 years in prison, upon conviction.
According to HCSO reports, Deputies Brian Hall and Danny Cope went to the Rolling Oaks 1 subdivision near Seven Points concerning possible drug activity.
Upon arrival, the deputies detected the smell of ammonia from the residence, and made contact with several individuals present at the location.
Further investigation revealed a large quantity of a liquid substance that the officers said appeared to contain methamphetamine.
Two investigators, Captain Kay Langford and Lt. Botie Hillhouse, interviewed individuals at the residence, and obtained information that led to the arrest of Byson and Hackler.
Child Protective Services was notified due to the presence of four minor children at the residence.
Sheriff Ray Nutt and Deputy Darrell Waller were also involved in the investigation, along with personnel from District Attorney Scott McKee’s Office.
Bryson was arrested in 2003 on a previous drug charge for possession of a controlled substance (1 gram to 4 grams). Hacker had drug arrests in 2007 and 2002 for possession of marijuana (under two ounces), and in 2004 for manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance (one gram to four grams).
