Athens — The Athens Odd Fellow Lodge No. 961 and Athens Rebekah Lodge No. 23 has seven students who are receiving a $500 scholarship to Trinity Valley Community College for this year.

This marks the 23rd year that these two lodges have given out scholarships to students at area schools. There must be at least two students from all of the schools in the area for their school to qualify for the scholarship.

The seven students are: Cheyenne Leigh Heitz, Athens; Brody Vest Chambers, Brownsboro; Selena Gomes, Brownsboro; Makayla Kyanne Arnold, Cross Roads; Robert Blaine Laughery, Cross Roads; Rachael Nicole Whitley, Mabank; and Briana Rachel Booth.

“We wish these students well and know that they will succeed through out the coming year,” said James Curtis of the Odd Fellow Lodge. “We would like to encourage all eight schools in the county to get their students to apply for these scholarships as they do help the students further their education.
